About The Kit

Q. What types of name changes will this kit help with?

This name change kit will help you with any type of name change you like. You can:

  • Change to your husband’s name
  • Hyphenate your name
  • Double barrel your name
  • Make up a new name
  • Change your first and middle name as well
  • Any other kind of name change you can think of!

Q. Can my husband use this kit to change his name too?

Yes he can! The name change kit can be used for you and your husband if you are both changing your name. And you only need one kit, not one each.

Q. I was married overseas, can I use your name change kit?

As long as you are an Australian citizen, yes, you can use this kit if you were married in Australia OR overseas.

Q. I am not an Australian citizen, can I use your name change kit?

If your marriage has been registered with your Australian state’s registry of births, deaths and marriages then this name change kit will enable you to change your name in Australia, but it does not cover the process for changing your name in your country of citizenship.

If you are not an Australian citizen AND were married outside of Australia, I’m afraid this kit won’t be a lot of use to you.

Q. Don’t organisations need me to fill out “official” forms? Can I print out and use the forms that you provide?

A. The forms that are provided in this name change kit are the authorised forms that have been provided directly by the organisations in question and can be printed and used in colour or black and white.

Q. How does it work? Do I just fill out the forms and you do the rest?

A. The After The Wedding Name Change Kit is a DIY kit. We provide all of the instructions and forms you need (including a 60 page manual and huge checklist), and you do the rest. If you would like someone to do your name change for you www.changename.com.au offer this service for $999.00 where you provide all of your details and places you need your name changed and they take care of if for you.

Q. How do I access the updates to the name change kit?

Just use the email that you got after your purchase to download the name change kit again. When you download the kit again, you will be downloading all of the updates.

Q. Is the name change kit current? When was it last updated?

The name change kit is updated every 6-8 weeks. You can find out when the last update was by checking our facebook page (all updates are announced on our facebook page).

 

Purchasing

Q. I’m worried about my privacy, how do I know you’re not going to steal my personal details / identify?

A. This name change kit is a do-it-yourself kit. The only personal details that we get to see are your name and email address when you make a purchase. We also use a secure connection for payments so don’t even get to see your credit card details!

Q. Can I buy the kit in hard copy or have it sent to me?

A. At this point in time, we only offer the downloadable kit. There used to be a hard copy name change kit that you could have sent to you, but it isn’t a very cost effective option. It is a lot more cost effective for you to download and print out your own kit. If you don’t have access to a printer, Officeworks (or other printing companies) will print out your kit for you a lot cheaper than it would be for us to print it and send it to you.

Q. Is your purchasing site secure?

A. We pay other companies to make sure our website and your purchase is as secure as it can possibly be. PayPal processes all of our payments and they have a secure purchasing page and download page. We never get to see your credit card number or any of your private details – just your name, email address and IP address!

Q. I don’t have a credit card, how can I order the kit?

A. Payment by cheque, money order and bank transfer options are coming soon. Unfortunately payment by credit card or Paypal are our only payment options at this time.

Q. Can I pay by direct deposit into your bank account?

A. Our bank details aren’t made public on the internet, so unfortunately at this time the only payment options are credit card and PayPal. If you have a PayPal account there is a facility for direct bank deposits so this might be an option you could look into. See www.paypal.com.au for more information.

Q. I don’t have a PayPal account and I don’t want to create one.

A. The good news is you don’t need a PayPal account and you don’t need to create one. PayPal just processes our credit card payments, you don’t need to create an account with them – just enter your payment details and you’re done. Easy!

Q. PayPal is saying they won’t accept my credit card. What do I do?

A. You will need to use another credit card or contact PayPal to see what is going on. PayPal is our credit card processor and unfortunately I don’t have access to their software to find out why they don’t like your card or what is going wrong. You can call them direct on (02) 8223 9500. It’s also a good idea to contact your credit card provider to make sure your card hasn’t reached its limit or been cancelled.

Downloading

Q. How do I get the kit after I’ve paid?

A. Straight after your payment is processed (which only takes a matter of seconds) you will be sent an email with instructions for downloading your kit. The process is almost instant. If you haven’t received an email within 10 minutes of paying, please email me and let me know.Don’t forget to check your junk/spam folders because the emails sometimes end up there. It takes about 5 minutes from clicking on the “add to cart” button until you have your kit open infront of you and you can start changing your name.

Q. What happens if I have trouble downloading the name change kit?

A. If you have any problems, please send me and email and I will help you out!
